MY AUTISM AND NUMBERS

 23rd  December 2017

With it being Christmas this week’s blog will be a shorter one, a bit personal, weird and maybe interesting. I was thinking of my Autism in terms of numbers the other day, so I thought it would be fun just to list Autistic facts about me in numbers and it might get other Autistics thinking about their own numbers.

So here we go.…

1 – the number of people who have recognised I am Autistic without being told (she already knew an Autistic and saw many similarities between this person and myself).

2 – the number of times I have disclosed my Autism to managers or directors at work.

22/7 – an approximation of Pi, a geometric number, as geometry is a special interest of mine.

5 – the number of films I own where the central character has Autism.

8 – people I have disclosed to at work who are NOT managers or directors.

11 – Blog posts including this one since I started my website.

12 – the number of times I have attended a Autism “Social” or support group.

16 – percentage number of Autistic people in employment, which is needing to change in 2018. I’m grateful for my job as this figure worries me the most.

21 – the number of books I own on Autism.

27 – number of months I suspected and researched Autism prior to my diagnosis.

86 – current followers on Twitter – the majority of which are awesome Autistics!

600621 – the number on my pass at my first Autism Show

10092016 – the day I got my diagnosis.

24062016 – the date I first attended “the Autism Show” at the NEC.

3 – the number of minutes on average it takes me to solve a Rubik cube so that I get sensory enjoyment. My special interest, if you are wondering.

3 – number of prime numbers in this list.…

2 – Number of Autistic math clichés in this blog post!

1,000,000,000 – number of best wishes, Merry Christmases, Happy new Years and thank yous, to all my acquaintances, friends and family, both Neurotypical and Autistic. You are all wonderful!
